We now have a new addition to the family here, a orphaned leveret. It is only about 8 days old now, but seems to be doing quite well and putting on weight. Feeding it a kitten milk mixture. Anyone else had experience of bringing them up??

Sprostoni. Your consumption figures for electricity are similar to various others that I have and equate to what we normally expect for an average (circa E1200 p.a. ). Based on that, we heat the house here for about 50% of our total expenditure per year.
Also be carefull of the ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ/English pricing system. Our very good ½ûÂþÌìÌà friend a few days ago, found out from someone he was hiring for some work,Ìý that the rate was E12 per hour for ½ûÂþÌìÌÃs, but E15 for non ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ.
For your size of apartment Moruzzo, then you would be better off getting an Inverter for the heating and aircon. Re edited as first link not working properly.
Capo Boi. The table is for the total cost, including all standing charges, IVA etc. Unit cost on the top rate of electricity, is nearly 24cents + another 2C in extra charges + IVA, so you are around 28 Cents per KW.

With all the comments above, I am quite happy to have the whole house heated by the equivalent of a 2kw fan heater. As with everything else, do loads of research before deciding if you want to live in 1 room or the whole house in the winter.
Why not ask the above, he will direct you in the correct way, as he has installed those systems.
Lovely description of the fun of woodburners. Our experience:- Year 1: Heat pump plus 50 quintale of wood if needed for emergencies for the L'Aristico fire in the sitting room. Hard work to stack, but only used a few kilos as not needed unless wanted to see some flames. Gets far too hot though!!! Year 2 to today(4 years later); Still only using a few kilos of wood a year, so still about 40 quintale left from original purchase. Ìý Cost of heating the house 24/7 in all rooms still around E1500 p.a. Result: Happiness and very little wood carrying
They have been shaded, pre-started in pots, but have not grown higher than a couple of inches. Will have to experiment a bit more, maybe clay soil is not good for them. As for the parsnips, this is the first year of trying!!!
