Questions Asked

We now have a new addition to the family here, a orphaned leveret. It is only about 8 days old now, but seems to be doing quite well and putting on weight. Feeding it a kitten milk mixture. Anyone else had experience of bringing them up??

Italymag's latest post has just amused us here, about the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Chef Aldo Zilli, as being one of the first to introduce "proper" ½ûÂþÌìÌà food into London. There were many restaurants in London, in the 70's prior to him arriving. One, San Frediano,

Didn't take long, before it started. Non ½ûÂþÌìÌà B&B!!! From a TripAdvisor commentBreakfast on the patio was excellent- even including bacon and eggs!

Wonder if anyone having the same problems:1. You read a post logged in, then refresh and then it tells you that you have x number of unread posts, even though you have read all.

Because it was raining today, thought to do some price comparisons re non ½ûÂþÌìÌà B&B's to ½ûÂþÌìÌà ones in Marche. I will not name any, but to be honest, you are better staying in ½ûÂþÌìÌà establishments.

Londonlass. Is that a 3rd party, or fully comprehensive policy, as have just paid £816 for a comprehensive policy through Italsure?

Have not used it under vines, but if you get a sprayer, then you just target the weeds you want to kill. If the spray hits the soil, then it is neutralised. I have used it around the edge of the orto, around laurels and fruit trees. As it is absorbed through leaves, then you should be perfectly ok at ground level around vines

Should give you some idea of the average price through Europe.

If you go into virtually any garden store and ask for the above, you will get basically the same product (roundup contains glyphosate ). 1ltr usually dilutes with 40 ltr of water for normal weeds, but you can increase the concentration if required.

You could also search on the old forum, it has always been a very intensely discussed subject.

I presume you are paying Enel the extra E2 per month then for the green energy supply.

Bunterboy. That would not be enough to run the electric cooker here, if we switched all the lighting on we would be at 6Kw. Why should I worry about paying an electricity bill of under 3k per year for 24 hr heating and hot water inclusive of the whole house requirement?

Thu, 09/30/2010 - 11:43

2.8 kw would not be worth thinking about, especially for 15K euro, even with the payback. Cannot believe how so many people get drawn into this for a 10+ year hopefull recovery on their money.

Allan. Domestic water heating is only 20% of a house heating needs. The onboard computer on the heat pump here shows that 80% of its use is the house heating. This is about the normal figure for any installation. From this I can base that the DHW only costs me about 250-300 euros per year. That does not warrant putting solar on the roof a that is not a constant heat source. From your figure above, this would confirm the fact that your main energy requirement is for heating. Re the efficiency factor, you could site the air inflow for the Nuos inside a cantina area where the temperature gradient is not as drastic. The Optima pumps are designed for -20C temps, which very rarely happen here, but can be combined with another heat source if needed.
