Perfect weather for a trip out today, after yesterdays storms, so we went to Caldarola to see the Caravaggios and others at Le Stanze del Cardinale in the main square ( ends 12th Nov) and then on up to Castello Pallotta an ancient fortified castle

Writing again in praise of the healthcare I have received in Marche.
Yet another incentive from those great people at Osteria del Lago at San Ruffino. They have opened a small English library, novels non fiction and some reference books. The idea is that the novels can be swapped or that you can add to their numbers
I feel this might be a question that comes under Caroles expertise, but just assuming I am a pensioner soon, what would be the advantages , disadavantages of having it paid here or in the UK?. I am being given the option, interesting that the post

One of the main topics at the G8 summit held in L'Aquila this week will be the environment and climate change and a drive to reduce carbon emissions. Mr B might be well advised to look closer to home on this subject.

The Wisteria/Vine/ Roses have climbed over the dish.....hence no signal. (thats what happend to us!).
Agree re the fish fingers from Eurospin!....but the bacon from the LBFS is excellent!.
People come on this forum to ask questions...not to be told how stupid they are...shame on you. And actually you spell it naive.....oh well no loss.
Having bought and done extensive renovation to our property in Fermo province I would say that even 6 years ago there were firm controls on what could or could not be done. Windows could not be changed into French doors for instance and the size and shape of the widows only allowed for a small variation.Plus the commune kept a friendly but watching brief on the project. We were guided by our geometra....the architect other than to sign off work was little in evidence. I would say decide on what you want to do bearing in mind the restrictions and get started!
Brianm...I dont think you explained that he has an accountant initially...hence Rams post. It is also useful to have one with other ex-pat clients so that they are used to dealing with their needs. As I understand it ours will also deal with the IMU payments....you pay for peace of mind. Austerity is hitting people here , but if it achieves a more regulated way of paying taxes I am not complaining. Long way to go I agree. Yes we were checked that we were living here when we bought 6 years ago, but really no problem, you choose to live in a different country to a degree you go with the flow or else complain about it all the time.....grumpy Brits drive me mad!!!. (not that I am suggesting any member on this forum is a grumpy Brit!)
Thanks Fillide, Sprostoni, ACI it is done and dusted and cover note printed out in 10mins....65e which is still a bargain.
Oh well at least you got the title. Does anyone know of an insurance company that do breakdown coverage for a car that is over 10yrs old ?. Just discovered that Mondial wont do it for such an ancient vehicle....much appreciated. We are permanent residents in Italy so some company over here would probably be the most useful.Â
But you always say you like the music I post Jimmy!!!!!!!
Excellent news Penny after all your hard work.
We bought our beds in Servigliano....excellent quality and middle price range, they deliver and set the beds up for free (dont know if this depends on distance though). The shop is on the right, set back from the road as you enter Servigliano from the Amandola road. You could combine your trip with a visit to the English library and The Little British Shop!.
