Questions Asked
I thought I would start a new thread on this for easy access.
Anyone have any idea on pricing for an external chimney from a pellet stove to reach above the roof line on the 2nd floor of a house. I am posting on behalf of a friend who is not well enough to do her own research, so forgive me for being vague.
I have a very good friend who is being harassed by a previous partner by phone.I remember in the UK that British Telecom had steps they could take to prevent nuisance calls of this nature.
Following on from another thead, what will happen to the ever increasingly aged farming communities, now that their children no longer want to work on the land?
So now being in possession of our permanent residency, apart from health care issues (and the rather nice baseball hat from the Sindico) what other advantages can we expect ?.
An Aesops fables moment (OK I know that was grapes....) I went down to check on our large cherry tree, bent over with the weight of cherries this year and surprised two large adult foxes doing the same thing.

We have been stopped in Southern Marche, Montegiorgio area just b/f the snow, carrying chains, and vests so no problem, but commented on our tyres, but let off.We now have 4 new tyres, it seems the fine is 100e each...so the Carabinieri were in a good mood that day. Very much in evidence on our roads here .....so be warned.
A cheap option for us was to use concrete but to band it with brick to break up the expanse, worked very well, especially as I am not a great lover of hard surfaces, used gravel on the paths and they looked good together. Used an English builder out here in Marche, and was impressed with the workmanship and his ideas re the layout.
Welcome to the forum Bella.
Rather too much!....see the post "is it snowing yet". 70cm here for us in Southern Marche, have been unable to get the car out for 2 wks, but the village is walkable. It finally seems to have stopped and the temperature is due to rise slowly, but it will be a while b/f some are reunited with their nearest supermarket.
Still snowing here in Marche, over 70cm and have not been out since Feb 1st, the snow plough comes down but piles the snow into our drive-way the car is under that somewhere. Trenches to the shed and woodpile, but had to be dug again after the overnight snow and drifting. Not much fun, but we were well stocked up with provisions and Robert is able to walk up to the village. Others I know are in a much worse position, their village too far to walk or are in failing health and could not make it anyway. But have had kind offers of help and we are all keeping a weather eye (hollow laugh) on each other....abet by phone and email.
Oh no just reread my post...why should I expect everyone to know the geography of my house?.Stufa groundfloor....computer first floor. As you say a laugh on a vile snowbound day.
Thanks for the reply Esme...and I think you are right, was sitting by the stufa with Misha on my knee when this was posted, will change my password, your advice is much appreciated.Â
This is very strange and perhaps someone can help me with an explaination?....I did not write the above statement on this thread. Had decided to keep off this forum for a while. Is it really possible to hack into someones account....would anyone really bother?. Only know about it as a friend alerted me to it this morning. There is an absence of any controls on this forum......and moderators are a distant memory. But would be obliged if anyone can come up with an explanation for why it may have happened.
Brianm you know nothing about me.
Hi, am looking forward to your posts, have not yet visited Sicily, so advice and experiences most welcome.
