Located less than a 100 m away from the Ponte Vecchio this centralli located trattoria is excellent value for money. You will find it on a narrow street called Via Stracciatella, to the left of Piazza di S.

It is that time of the year again! Plants see to thrive, but the terrible weeds do it as well.

I did not want to hijack Ronald's thread on Sardinia and the G8, but following a post on the same topic by Adriatica and my own commennt, I thought that it may be interesting for many to see what we are talking about.

Keep in mind that the tax is charged only on the cadastral value of the property and not the purchase price. Sometimes, trying to get residency within the required time is not worth all the trouble involved.

It would be great to have a group for members interested in History. There could be some very interesting discussion. There is plenty to talk about...

Hi Richard. It will be difficult within Bagni di Lucca itself as dogs are supposed to be kept on leash in parks such as Contessa Cassalini. I would add that it will also be dangerous for the dogs because of the existing traffic. We don't have that problem as our dog is an elderly lady who is not up to much running around, anyway. I checked the Comune site and there is no information. Perhaps a visit to the Tourist Information Service, near the Town Hall may be of help.

I had the same problem for quite a few hours since Sunday afternoon. It was always "unobtainable". Glad we are back to normal!!!

I would opt for answers a and b at Wikipedia, together, as carne means both flesh and meat and all the pleasures of associated with the two were heavily restricted by the Church during Lent, which comes immediately after Carnevale. As most religious festivals, it has a pagan origin adapted to Christianity. So it is both a farewell to eating meat and to the pleasures of the flesh.
