Clueless in Italy's activity

Questions Asked

Hi we are planning to drive down this summer.

In the old days we would take a trailer loaded with personal effects, mainly old used items of very little if any value.Ìý

Cost of labour.Ìý

Hi everyone we are currently stuck in the UK with a long list of works required on our house (ruin) in Italy.

I am interested in getting some local help but would like a rough idea of the cost of labour.Ìý

I am sorry if this has been covered before, but just looking for a brief idea. I understand that the process of obtaining an ½ûÂþÌìÌà passport can be arduous.Ìý

Firstly hope everyone is staying safe in these strange times.

I have an old rural property in the mountains of Piedmonte that I think needs a septic tank installed.(currently send to just be a pit).

Hi we set up a local bank account and had it all automated.

However it stopped after awhile and we ran into the no italian phone number issue.

As a temp work around i paid online via paypal account with no problems. it is not a big problem as our bill is every 2 months.

Thanks for the update. \we are still enjoying Italy at the moment and wont be returning before the deadline.

We are scheduled to come back in about 3 weeks so will have to see what the situation is at that time.

i am thinking of maybe flying the family back and i could drive back on my own but everything is so fluid italy could be on the list by then.

Thanks.

Good advice....But none of those are realistic options. Its an old mill, loads of climbing plants, holes and tunnels everwhere.

I know the romans liked them dipped in honey however as my wife is a life long vegi thats not an option either.

Hi, went a route that I think you are familiar with, Belgium, Luxembourg and down, through the Gottard tunnel.

No stops a hard slog but 2 of us share the driving.

Hi.

Just an update on our trip over.

All very smooth. Face masks on the ferry and at petrol stations.

No stops or Checks at any point.Ìý

Everything seems to be open some very small shops operating a 1 at a time policy.

Have been sitting out for coffees and ice cream most days and except for the waiting staff wearing face masks it all feels very normal.

Thanks for all the help.

I am heading over on the 10th of July France, Switzerland, and very near your place via Omegna.

Happy to send an update of you were interested. Might help you decide on your plans.
