I do not know how many are aware, but now if you need to renew your UK passport while living in Italy, the documentation now has to be sent to Paris.

Seems like the system has gone to pot, as you have to page back to find last comments on this thread. Anyone else having the same problem?

Thought that this was a very good article. It does seem to show that the country is still very divided after 150 years. So makes you wonder which part of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃism we should or should not join.

Must say that we never found this dentist, as he was recommended to us from one of the locals here about 6 years ago.  If we had found any problems with him, would not have returned after the first visit. Have had far worse treatment in the UK.

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to share my experience. Late last week, my gum started becoming inflamed over a broken molar. On this Monday, the pain became fairly unbearable, as the abscess had spread to the inside of the gum. Rang the dentist around 5.00pm and was offered to go that evening, or the next morning. Decided to stand the pain until the Tuesday. Tues morning at 9.45 arrived at the surgery, straight in, anaesthetic injection, 5 mins later tooth out and infection build up cleared. Left surgery at 10.15, no tooth or gum pain since This dentist is German, but speaks English and ½ûÂþÌìÌà as well. I hate going to a dentist, but this guy is far better than any of the UK ones I have visited and like most men, we try to leave it as long as possible.

Hi Sebastiano. Saw from your comment earlier, that there was a threat of the above being cut off. Have traveled it today, as had to go to the dentist near Porto San Giorgio. Road all seems okay and could not identify to which point you were referring.

Okay, if you keep it filled all the time. A good French friend of ours used to have his rise out of the ground in the winter, so now keeps it filled until the new season before changing the water.

There are a number of options you could possibly go for if you already have the radiators etc there. Correct me if I am wrong, but was the original heating an open fire with a back boiler? If so you could replace it with a woodburner unit and a heat store. Sagraiasolar would give you more info on that solution than I can. Another option is a air/water heat pump with a DHW tank with built in immersion heater. You would probably need one with either a 9 or 11 Kw output. A GSHP would be the most expensive solution, but the easiest to use. 3rd option is a couple of air/air inverter units, with a seperate DHW supply. In 2 and 3, you would need a higher electricity supply. Hope this helps
