After my success answering Annec's question, its my turn. However, I’m not clever enough for an ‘½ûÂþÌìÌÃ’ question – so I’ll go for one with a ‘Greek’ connection insteadI’m a ‘sad’ man who likes numbers.
I thought about leaving a car at the holiday house for general use.It would have been a UK car - from this and other forum responses, getting an ½ûÂþÌìÌà car would have been 'difficult'. [although I did consider getting an ½ûÂþÌìÌà to buy, tax and insure a car in Italy]I had considered insurance - I would have used Saga [or similar] for the annual 'use abroad' facilityI'd considered the MOT problem - the car would be new [or nearly new] so wouldn't needÌýan MOT for 3 years, when it would be returned to the UK and replacedÌý- it would be a small/cheap car to keep costs down -Ìýsomething like the Ford Ka that I bought brand new about 18 months ago for under £5kThe downfall of the proposal was what you did with the car when I wasn't there - if I left it at the airport, there were charges and security to consider.Ìý if I left it at the house, I had to pay for transport to and from the airport. All in all - the costs didn't stack up - so I hire
"but when it comes down to legal transactions such as buying houses and cars etc there should be a common understanding".ÌýÌýÌýLike common house buying rules in England and Scotland?
MBK - thanks for the warning - it at least made me aware there probably would be a problem.Ìý As i'd booked the overnight stop already - we still went ahead withÌýthe route anywayÌýBoth sides of the dual carriageway were 'singled' in places, with contraflow as well.Ìý It wasn't too much of a problem going from Dunkirk, as we were not having to get to a ferry by a set time, and a later arrival at the hotel didn'tÌý really matter [only in lost drinking time!].Ìý But we didn't want to risk missing the ferry on the way back.
It literally sounds like two stones being knocked together,ÌýÌý.ÌýPerhaps its just that - a local scaring the birds away as he goes out to work in the morning

I'd avoid the property like the plague - tax dodge, plus charges against it etc etc - run like h*ell
