Anyone used the Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry service? I'm hoping to drive down to the holiday home later this year, and was thinking of using the service.

There is an interesting article in today's G2 section of the Guardian newspaper by a woman who moved to Italy, founded a successful business, and has now moved back to the UK [but still has the business] because she missed LondonÌý

Try googling something like -

I doubt whether many ½ûÂþÌìÌÃs would regularly feed a neighbours cat - they seem to have a different view on cats to Brits, in most cases.

You could try the expat forum(s) for your area - you might get an offer of help.

Good luck

If you are going back to the UK by ferry, you will have to quarantine on your return- only Eurotunnel travellers can avoid it, by non-stopping in France.

Although you can fill up with fuel etc in france, if you don't mix with others whilst you do.

I seeÌýthat Ferry companies are complaining as only Eurotunnel users can avoid quarantine, and ferry users [even if they "non-stop"] have to quarantine.

We bought without a lawyer - following very very strong advice from our ½ûÂþÌìÌà friends.Ìý

I don't think you necessarily need to non-stopÌý through France on the way to italy, only on the way back to the UK to avoid quarantine.

Don't think there are any restrictions on entry into italy from France or SwitzerlandÌý

If things stay as they are now, you can avoid quarantine by staying out of France.Ìý ÌýIf you drive from Switzerland into Germany, and up to Aachen on the German/Belgium border.Ìý From there it is less than 4 hrs non-stop drive to Calais across Belgium.Ìý By non-stopping, you don't have to quarantine on your return.Ìý It only adds about 2 hrs to the total journey time,Ìý and about 120 miles to the overall distance.i
