Just a warning for everyone, a few days ago a friend was badly stung by wasps that had formed a nest inside an outside shed, he was attacked when entering and required urgent hospital treatment.
I have a very good friend coming out to Italy to spend 2 months touring, and hopefully buying a small second home here.

Morning Ronald, I wanted to post on the old IMF, to let people know about our latest fund raising event for L'Aquila, but it isnt allowing me to, is it closed for posting now?.A
Trying to find my way around this new community, and am slightly better than I was, but with so many threads I am now having difficulty in remembering which one I posted in, so searching for an answer is a task in itself, any easy way to track you

Your figs must be early , ours are only just forming, but I will try your recipe, sounds interesting. Previously I have made fig jam, will dig out the instructions.A
Yes for me it does Penny.A
But a good yolk.A
Very funny Andrew even I could translate that, we could introduce Sarahs chickens to our new friend whom we hope will be attending the BBQ.A
I think the idea was Al that different provinces appear to interpret  the rules in a different way. And this was Pennys trip through the officialdom in the area of Marche in which she and other interested community members live.A
Wheres that grazie button John!, agree broadly with what you say. I remember the first time we went to the comune we were told by the wicked witch of the west to go away, couldnt we see she was busy writing a letter!, so I sat down until she had finished and she has never done it again!. Having said that everyone else is very helpful, shame she is the gatekeeper, and the public scowl of the community. So the message is to not be put off, but to be polite but insistant. For us ,I guess we have been fortunate in our reception from other comune employees, but had it been otherwise with eveyone being obstructive it would have been a very different situation.A
Thank you Gala, I think it will be a case of 3rd time lucky.A
Interesting what you say John, our comune knows best, and if it is in our favour, then who are we to say it is not correct.?. Have visited there today to sort out various issues and as ever the mayor was there big hand shakes and smiles. I think that in such a small community as ours and with a forward looking administration our path has been made easy. There have been other issues when we thought we would be dismissed, but it seems a phone call from the mayor can have amazing powers. I would be interested to find out what these might be on such a local level? If anyone can define them.A
Very sorry to hear this Helen, we had thought that we covered all options, we had emailed and phoned and posted on the community, a message to all those that were going to attend I regret that you did not receive a notice of the event being cancelled.Just after the cut off time , when we had made the decision there was a huge storm here and all communication was down for 4 hrs, We did our best to let everyone know, regret that you had a wasted trip, but we are trying to do our best under difficult circumstances. We hope for better weather next weekend.A
Thanks for the good wishes Carole, the forecast we study with baited breath is for Comunanza, Marche, so lets hope it is going to be 3rd time lucky!.We have already done amazingly well with the sale of raffle tickets well over 1000 euros so the BBQ will be the icing on the cake. So on a positive note , another week in which to buy them, and the prizes are just so generous, just remember to put BBQ on the justgiving site and I will add eveyone into the draw.thanksAngie
