We have a house and apartment in rural Marche, and would love the opportunity to see more of Italy, but we have 3 cats who are much loved and need looking after whilst we are away. Any members with property in Italy care to do a house swap?

First may I say turnip that I wish your relative all the best for his new life in Italy. I think that as in the UK health service dentistry is difficult to find, and on a limited pension it would be difficult to afford the fees of private care. I considered going back to England to my private dentist who was happy to see me, but decided to opt for private care here, which was probably one of the most distressing experiences I have ever had and cost me as much as the airfare to the UK and more. Might it be possible for your relative if he is visiting the UK to see a dentist there?. And if anyone in Marche knows of a pain free dentist let me know , had I been more aware at the time I would have reported him to his governing body.A
. Apologies posted twice,
An interesting point raised by Carole regarding immigrants, which those of us from the UK living here are.UNESCO defines a migrant as someone not living in their country of birth and who has moved for a wide variety of reasons, social, economic, political. Many move and expect to return, many work to send home money to families in their country of birth. Talking to ½ûÂþÌìÌà friends they say that much of the work ½ûÂþÌìÌÃs no longer wish to do for example building work is carried out by nationals of another state, perhaps we could compare this with health workers in the UK?. There was post 2nd ww many ½ûÂþÌìÌÃs moving to the UK, America and Argentina, all looking for a better life for themselves and family. Perhaps we need to remember this when the issue of immigration is raised and view it with a more humanitarian eye.A
