I wish this could be clarified for me, I would love to mention our apartment but that seems a no no, perhaps Valentina could explain what is acceptable?. I have read the notes re what is suitable, and am none the wiser.

We have a house and apartment in rural Marche, and would love the opportunity to see more of Italy, but we have 3 cats who are much loved and need looking after whilst we are away. Any members with property in Italy care to do a house swap?

We have had our two chickens Gilda and Ruby for 5 wks now, and were becoming dispondant as no eggs in sight, but this morning we have had our first one!, I know I am over-excited about this but just had to share!

I would just like to recount an excellent story of health care in South Marche for those who are fortunate to come under the region of Fermo (hopefully this will soon apply to our friends in the area of Amandola?) Suffering from blurred vision fo

We are compiling our Christmas book list for Amazon, has anyone got any favourites to recommend, especially ones with an ½ûÂþÌìÌà theme?. Have read most of Donna Leon and Michael Dibden, so something else would be appreciated.A

You dont say how old you are and this can have a significant impact if you are eligable to transfer benefits from the (I am assuming) UK.Otherwise do a search on this forum, much has been written on the subject in the past.

Would it be possible to have it paid into a UK bank account and then transfer it when the rates are good into your ½ûÂþÌìÌà account?....say 3/4 times a year. Works well for me, and I can recommend Currencies Direct for the xfer.

Steve is correct, public sector government pensions taxed in the UK despite residency in Italy. A good commercialista saves worry and doubt I can recommend one in Marche if anyone is interested.

My neighbour showed me where to pick wild chicory, I cannot remember the dialect word, but it was absolutley delicious and so digestable....miles better than spinch....but not telling where it is!, and the fungi pickers have been down our lane again, but a bit hesitant to try the mushrooms.

The rate is the current rate, and no charges are made, but it is best to tell your bank it is your UK pension being received to avoid confusion.

Why so gloomy?, we are only a few miles from you. There is a new factory going up near our village that will employ more local people, we already have one that our neighbours son works for. The other son is an accountant and works close by. Young ½ûÂþÌìÌà friends work locally (I admit after a long job search). Interesting re our neighbouring farmers, their sons are now retiring from jobs abroad and returning home, and are working on the land, how lucrative this will be remains to be seen, but judging from the the number of contract tractors working on the land, they seem to have their act together. Re the old abandoned houses, always sad, estate agent friends advise there is a trend now for ½ûÂþÌìÌÃs to return to the countryside....abet with jobs in neighbouring cities but what they perceive as a better lifestyle for their family. Marche is still thriving !.
