I thought I would start a new thread on this for easy access.
Anyone have any idea on pricing for an external chimney from a pellet stove to reach above the roof line on the 2nd floor of a house. I am posting on behalf of a friend who is not well enough to do her own research, so forgive me for being vague.
I have a very good friend who is being harassed by a previous partner by phone.I remember in the UK that British Telecom had steps they could take to prevent nuisance calls of this nature.
Following on from another thead, what will happen to the ever increasingly aged farming communities, now that their children no longer want to work on the land?
So now being in possession of our permanent residency, apart from health care issues (and the rather nice baseball hat from the Sindico) what other advantages can we expect ?.
An Aesops fables moment (OK I know that was grapes....) I went down to check on our large cherry tree, bent over with the weight of cherries this year and surprised two large adult foxes doing the same thing.

Less plagued than our first year here, the numbers do seem to tail off and we are now into our fourth season here in Italy. It is well known on this forum that I do not like the hunters, they come too close to the house, we have 4cats and I worry they will get shot, and whilst I have to accept that they have the right to tramp over my land I do not like it. I am sure that some are more diligent in obeying the rules, but many are not, I witnessed one guy last week just behind our house lift up his dog by its front paw and sling it into the back of his car, it squealed in pain, which demonstrates what a barbaric and cruel lot some of them are. I am only grateful that they seem to be such rubbish shots that they end up shooting each other rather than the animals and birds.A
Pineapple, now that may be an interesting addition, as I say you have to overcome the initial dont like idea, but it is very ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, a million miles from pizza hut, have you really eaten there?, and in a wood fired pizza oven on a very thin base of pizza, you really should try it.A
Ah yes, but not mine!A
Not sure about the direct link to the property you rented on a public forum, without the owners having the opportunity to address your complaints. I am assuming that you advised them that you were unhappy ?A
In a glut year a fair price in Marche sold between neighbours was 6euros per litre. This year as it appears that there wont be much oil around prices will rise in proportion to the amount of oil available.Very hard to estimate ask again in November!A
For us there is no average, we have 80 trees, last year a bumper crop and this year hardly worth picking. Our trees vary so much in age, it would be impossible to judge, perhaps someone here who is more experienced or a commercial grower might have an answer, but it would depend on how well the trees had been looked after, and situation and weather conditions. Ours had been neglected for a few years and were pruned back hard this year in anticipation of next years crop.A
I can think of 3 women who have come to this area of Marche alone, all with different circumstances, but the main factor has been that they have all learnt or spoken excellent ½ûÂþÌìÌà and have either set up work here as B&B or had enough money to survive without working. I dont think it has been easy for any of them. I would consider your options very carefully, but wish you good luck.A
I think with all these things Tammy it depends on where you live in Italy. Our commune has been very helpful so dont be put off, as always it is best to be polite, get to know people, especially the mayor!. I think Italy is about who you know and who you make connections with. I hate the word networking but it does work. We live in a village of only 800 people but it has been good for us. I hope you have a positive experience.A
