Two ˝űÂţĚěĚĂ hotels feature in CNNâs pick of the worldâs âSeven Breathtaking Clifftop Hotelsâ.
âCNN.comâ, the website of the American broadcaster, selects âthe worldâs most desirable lodgings... that transport guests far above the fray, affording unobstructed panoramic views and an unparalleled sense of privacy without the feeling of total isolation.â The list includes the Hotel Caruso Belvedere on the Amalfi Coast and the Caesar Augustus in Capri. They gained plaudits for their locations that offer spectacular birdâs-eye views of the sea and landscape.
The Hotel Caruso Belvedere is located in the Lattari Mountains range in Ravello, Campania. CNN describes the hotel as taking in âpicture-postcard Mediterranean views of the city of Salerno and Amalfi Bay, a sheer 1,150 feet below.â
Situated in Anacapri, the Caesar Augustus lies some 1,000 feet above the Bay of Naples, on the side of Mount Solaro. The hotel wins CNNâs approval because âAlmost every nook and cranny of the hotel offers sweeping water views, with the tiny town of Sorrento and, on a clear day, Mount Vesuvius, visible just 20 miles north.â
The other hotels selected by CNN were in Rhode Island, Jamaica, Bali and South Africa.
