Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy

It was no coincidence that the 2017 edition of the prestigious Michelin guide was presented in Parma, a city in Emilia-Romagna which is in the heart of the so-called Food Valley, and which was recently declared Unesco’s Creative City of Gastronomy.

Every year, the French-published guide is expected with much anticipation in the restaurant world, as the award or loss of a star can greatly influence the success of a dining establishment.

With a total of 343 restaurants in the 2017 guide, Italy came in second for the number of Michelin-starred restaurants, after France. There are now 294 one-star restaurants (27 new entries in 2017), 41 two-star restaurants (five new entries) and eight three-star restaurants (number has remained unchanged).

Below is the list of the new entries in the 2017 Michelin Guide for Italy – you can read more about each restaurant on the .Ìý
