1978 Directions to Naples airport

Looks like we are set to exchange tomorrow - at last!!!!

My plan is to leave here on Thursday and drive to Puglia, planning to arrive Sunday. Will then drive back to Naples on 30th November and leave the car there. The removals is now scheduled for 2nd December, so Bob and I, together with Bill and Ben (cats) will fly into Naples on 2nd December, pick up the car and drive back to Puglia.

Now, I remember making the drive back to Naples airport after a holiday a long time ago. We got horrendously lost before we managed to find the airport. Does anybody have good directions or maybe know where we can find them on the Internet?

and now you have them getting lost..again.

best coffee in italy. naples.
best food in italy. naples.

stands to reason even there raw sewage will be the best smelling!

so hows that going to help them find the airport?
when they are used to inferior sewage...........

Good Luck with everything. Was also going to suggest the site that Aliena mentions, it is the best of the various route sites in our experience.

Try www.opel.com lower right hand corner "route planner". I use it all the time.

I'm sitting here with everything crossed, feeling sick, just waiting for the phone call to say that it HAS been done

Hope this works
Map of naples showing airport (bottom of picture 1) and main road from Avellino E 842 also know as 16.
Had to make it small to be able to send it, double click to open and enlarge.
To find it yourself go to google earth, top left type in 'napoli' not naples.
Make sure you have the road box at the bottom of the screen ticked, it will show you road names and numbers as you zoom and pan around
Have fun

Wherever you enter Naples from, just take the Tangenziale and exit at capodichino. The airport is there. Its easy!
If you're coming up from Salerno, you'll be automatically on the Tangenziale... as long as you dont follow signs for the port or the city centre... If you pass a drive in Macdonalds on the right, you've gone too far.

this used to be our local airport....even my in laws got lost trying to find it sometimes....the previous post is correct ...but it doesnt always appear to be that simple....

i have found the easiest way by far is to approach it at a sort of sideways angle.... drive to rome follow signs to airport get on plane there and let someone else have the responsability of finding it.... obviously much easier to do from the air....as none of the planes so far seem to have got lost on the way.....

wish I'd had all this good advice before I left!!!!
Took an exit too soon off the A16 and got hopelessly lost, found it eventually though and am back in UK now before the final flight on Friday! I'm sure the plane will find the airport easier than I did!!

Bet you cannot wait until Friday. Why not print out travel details from the internet so that you do not go wrong on the way out of Naples?

yep, looking forward to friday. totally cream crackered now with last minute packing etc.
We will print directions from Naples airport for tomorrow, although last time we flew in there did not find it quite so hard to get out of the airport as to find it!
