1918 Great idea, but...

non members won't know what a great and lively place the Forum is, if we all go "underground"

what's the bet the this area is where all the threads go? (only to be stolen by Ronaldo? possible wearing clarke's shoes?)

Don't be daft Wishful Thinker. With all the 'lurkers' that we've had over the past couple of days, it'll only encourage them to register.

I thought those lurkers can't see our playground??

S

anyone not yet registered on the forum will not be able to see this

once you sign in you can see it.

a classic case of hiding the naughty children at the back of the class... ;)

this place has certainly stopped any lively debate.... ever since it was set up nobody has argued with anybody about anything..... apart from the jokes i might almost fall asleep......

wishful thinker...if it isnt too painful for this to happen ....i think i agree with you

Adriatica: So, you say 'this place' has certainly stopped any lively debate? Haven't seen you posting anything contentious recently here yourself.

That goes for you too John ... or do you only want to join in 'once the bun fight has started'?

Adriena: Wanna lively debate? Then start a meaningful one that we can all participate in. Not just burning shoes in braziers etc.

Just off to post some more jokes;)
John, everyone is either waiting for you to post an "attack".. or may be too worried about getting the thread pulled.. I, on the other hand.. enjoy snagging! (NB I said sNagging.)

I often thread bravely where only fools dare to go. Hmm.. somat like that anyway.. ;)

Wanna do one on a no win/lose situation? You and I can get down to a lively debate - no holds barred and see what develops (probably a rash for Ronald)!

Have a think about it while I go and post some more jokes.. to keep you alert.

:) :)
What does it matter?

I'm sure Aliena isn't your real name so that shouldn't offend you. From your posts your name might be 'very clever and mouthy Neopolitan/Liverpudlian'. Sorry if that rings true but it couldn't be better really.

I'm sorry but, I think that's there's a place for the serious and the frivolous on this forum. Chestnuts apart, what about the EU? And how this will effect us?

Try getting back to me on that?

There was a crime in Abruzzo yesterday ...saw it on the news !!!:D ...and it's snowing there ...allegedley ( can't spell...):D

regarding robbery in abruzzo ...they were using those funny guns which begin with KA ...something or other and obviously as the robbery occured on the abruzzo part of the A14 were using that part of it which manages to stay in place to carry out the hijack...they then fled back in the direction of .... wont say it ...but south of here....

as regards weather will admit to having seen snow fal here in mid august.... because we have the highest mountain in the whole of the italian peninsula....and the weather at that hight is slightly different to where us usual mortals happen to live....

alex and lyn i presume your costs are a lot lower than ours in abruzzo for italian life....i guess you havent even got the heating on...or have you????

seemed to read on the weather chart this morning 4 c for Bari.... which beat pesacra at 3 c... but then i admit abruzzo has seasons.... it also has skiing which is why we get snow in the mountains....

also the other day on the local news....and i have to admit i find this slightly worrying ...crime increased in Teramo...last year there were four bank robberies...this year six...already.... however along with the marche its basically still the safest place in italy to live and as the buildings here are obviously most probably more adapted to seasonal temperatures maybe the warmest....

as regards snow and the obvious disinclination in puglia to recognise the difference between mist and that funny white stuff that appears to fall out of the sky when the temperature is low enough ...live pictures today from bari indicate that some one obviously has a major case of ...what is it ...dandruf..... or could it be .... alex and lyn....maybe get the skis...or toboggan out....

actually if you lived in cortina... an igloo...its -14 c...and if you happen to live near milan...its -1 and to top it all they just had an earthquake....

in fact evrywher north of here is minus something ...and just so calabria doesnt feel left out its snowing there too....

today i was painting the outside of our house here....well getting on with it in bright sunshine.... and wimp that i am i had to keep my tee shirt on... but it ws a nice view in the distance of snow covered peaks.... might drive up there next week and let the dogs make yellow stains...

Bari must be appox 90 - 100km north from Alex and Lynn and a quick check on the Carovigno web cam shows there's not a speck of dandruf in sight:rolleyes: Sure the camara lens didn't need a clean:eek:

Snowed in Ostuni at 4pm ...well dandruffed..and Alberobello this morning !!!............heating been on for weeks....we are also painting the house...aha....at last ...we have something in common..:D ........any other idiot painting the house in November or just us and adriatica ;)
in fact evrywher north of here is minus something ...and just so calabria doesnt feel left out its snowing there too..../QUOTE]

Ooh - Calabria too??!!
Might be just as well I insisted we had to buy the ugly lpg heater last visit as we haven't a fireplace so no cosy wood fires etc for us.
Was that a news item or have you been looking at the weather online?
If you have a weather report link it would be appreciated.

Regards, Lesley & Brian

sorry it was a weather report so no link...however if you go to the RAINews24 site it also includes weather status reports....

calabria in fact like abruzzo often gets snow on the mountains...and i believe is one of the true places where sking and sunbathing can almost be done in the same day as coastal temps do not fall as low as the adriatic side of the country....

... good luck with the painting to alex and lyn.... as someone scared of heights in has been a slight struggle to get me up on the top level of the scaffolding.... however aginst all safety rules ...i know and not something i could reccomend ...and any children watching the show do not do this at home ....several glasses of wine seemed to immune my brain from the vertigo affects and for a couple of days at least i felt quite happy perched ten metres off the ground.... on occaision i even managed to remember to take the paint bucket and brush instead of bottle and glass...

..it would make a brilliant 'cartoon' !!!:D Who needs paint when you have the wine, a glass and some scaffolding !!!! Excellent.......
......in case no-one reads the Puppy Post in General...we are now the proud owners of a 3-4 month old puppy called Sofie...sister to Cassie !!!:) Was going to post a photo in the gallery but can't get it to work ...

sorry...but cannot resist and as no one from puglia seems to have posted the news it might be of interest to locals down there .... anyway abruzzo is now a much safer place thanks to the national anti mafia section of the police who just descended on various agriturismo in the province of bari to arrest that deperate gang of non existent mafia ... who have been pillaging throughtout the land ...holding up money carrying vans ....shooting at everyone with those funny russian machine guns and then running off back to puglia.....

apparentley of the 16 criminals picked up half were calabrian who had now based their operation centre alongside the local other apullian half.... in a 30 million euro venture... the raid was carried out by specialist armed forces and involved them descending on various areas sliding down ropes from attack helicopters.... when they do these things they seem to go all out....

anyway at long last the roads of italy are a safer place now this 21 st century gang of highwaymen have been removed.....

surely alex and lyn if they reported the robbery here you must have seen a report on the people who did it being captured.... a couple of days ago now... hopefully your excuse being that you are too busy with new puppy.... if its anything like ous it pees and poohs non stop....copiously...any suggestions on potty training ????

and maybe now the mafia does not exist in that region any more..... must write to the papers and television and tell them that they are wrong to call them mafia.... because the definition doesnt fit ....

Hi John, if you use the "Search" facility at the top of this page, you will find advice on puppy pottie training..;) :)
