1863 moving to italy help!

Hi

Basically I have a job offer and am trying to find out how much does rental accomodation cost?

It will be an apartment for 1 person near or in the area of Bologna. The initial period I will be there is 6 months.

Any help is much appreciated as I am trying to work out how much its going to cost me.

You should check out [url]www.soloaffitti.it[/url] One thing to remember, unfurnished means that it will not have a kitchen, light fixtures or closets. If it is partially furnished it will have those items but no furniture.

Good luck with the new job and welcome to Italy. sure you will find the rent a lot less than in a city of comparable size in the UK.

Normal ½ûÂþÌìÌà renting procedure is that you sign a contract for 4 years, pay monthly and pay the agency one month rental plus tax. To get out of the contract you have to give 6 months notice in writing but the owner con't get out of his side of the contract. Bond is variable but sometimes up to three months of the rental if there is furnishing. Therefore with one moth rent to the owner is advance plus the month to the agent, you could be looking at paying 5 months rental before you get the key! But there are much more flexible solutions available.

½ûÂþÌìÌÃs do not move freely like we are more used to, so there are less properties available and the standard situation are empty spaces where you build your own kitchen. That said, there are oppertunities with fully firnished appartments that are let out on a more casual basis which is probably what you really want.

Check with the tourist office as well as the local agents. The weekly rental may be much higher but often there are appartments available in the off season and you can try and negotiate down. Also you may get a better deal if you offer to pay in cash.

Book into a cheap hotel and allow yourself about a week to see the properties available. Unfortunately it's not something that can happen fast.

Bologna is quite a different city though, there are many university students living there, ao you should be able to rent a flat or a room for a shorter period of time.

Check on the universities web sites, or tray to get in touch with the people that are offering u the job, they will be willing to help!
