It would also be very helpful to know the rough cost in Puglia per square meter of stone paving.
Marke, try this web site: www.apuliastones.com. It's a local company.
Still hoping for info regarding building dry stone walls in Puglia :( I can get plenty of info from UK companies (Yorkshire/Wales) and the prices are reasonable. Really need a recommendation or intro in Puglia.

an italian agent who also helps clients with the refurbishing of properties, told me that external stone paving is around 30 pounds a metre,i do not know if this includes labour costs.he did tell me that building costs in puglia are rising rapidly and some people are being caught out buying dilapidated houses very cheaply and being shocked at the cost of renovation.by the way he was speaking as a friend and not trying to sell me a house.

Susan P,
Thanks very much for the link to apulia stones. Hopefully someone out there has information on the cost of building the stone walls. Out of curiousity, are you interested in all stone walls, or concrete walls with flat stone tile facing?

How right you are!! We`ve recently bought a villa which is partly finished. It needs the electric wiring putting in (but there are tubes in place for the wires to be passed through), bathroom suites and kitchen putting in, plus all the outside finishing off. We have been quite amazed by the cost of this `finishing` work. We`re not being ripped off either as a local friend has bought the next door villa and we are comparing quotes for everything. I think people should be aware that if you buy something really cheap that needs renovating it may not be the bargain they were hoping for. You can get odd-job type of work done cheaply but when it comes to anything major it`s a different matter.

At the moment dry stone walls for the perimeter of the property.

Would really like to know what sort of prices you've been quoted for the finishing off work. Electrics, outside finishing off, installation of kitchen, bathrooms etc. A PM would be appreciated if more appropriate.
Have any of the 'Puglia People' got an idea of how much it would cost to get a local firm to construct a dry stone wall. Costings of say - per metre by a metre high?
Many thanks for any information or web sites I could look at.
I`ve asked a friend about the dry stone walls. As soon as I`ve got any idea of the prices here, I`ll let you know (also prices for the other work).
