1726 Hello from new members

Hello

We have just come back from Abruzzo, our seventh trip in a couple of years. Our past few trips have been looking at houses to buy as we have fallen in love with the country. We have two children who are still in school in England and so are not able to move to Italy permanently until a few years time, but that is our firm intention. We are currently learning the language and have been enjoying trying to converse with the locals on our trips - all have been very friendly and encouraging.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find it useful and entertaining! I see you live in Berkshire, we are currently in Crowthorne but due to move to Puglia towards the end of November.

Hellow Frankie and Poppy,

Small world! We live in Bracknell, but are only just planning the move for a couple of years down the line, also got kids in school. We're hoping to move to Lazio - middleish (is there such a word!! ) round the Monte Cassino area :)

xx

Hi
We're actually in Binfield. Maybe our kids go to the same school! Maybe we should meet up sometime and share experiences of Italy and the buying process.

And we're in Crowthorne, leaving for Puglia on 15th but if you have time to meet up before then we would love to meet!

We're in Woking, the Bracknell side and use Bracknell a lot. We bought near Ostuni in August but don't plan (or can't afford to) live out there in the near future. We have a lot of work to do including extensions, although it is taking time to get the process underway. Hopefully when we give up work we'll spend a lot more time there. In the meantime its holidays and long weekends of hard work. We are very happy with the property and already can see the benefits of our efforts to date.

Would love to meet up to share experiences. Our children (?) are away at university which is what gave us the time to actually think about buying. They think we've gone a bit loopy, the minute their back is turned we buy a place in Italy! Youngest was away on her gap year when it all happened and by the time she was back it was a fait accompli!

Any possibility of meeting up for a drink before you depart?

Made us laugh :D Our kids have flown the nest too and think that we're 'loop de loop' buying in Italy. I'm sure they think we're spending their inheritance, which of course we are

I've recorded three copies of the film 'Shirley Valentine' which will be going in their Christmas Stockings.

Not quite appropriate, but a pretty good indicator of the way we're thinking.

certo!
have sent you a pm
