1698 Carovigno - I can't help it

Today was the first day I saw something other than a funeral in the piazza on the webcam in Carovigno. Most of you are probably sick by now of reading about the webcam and what is happening in the Piazza, but you know what, I feel like I'm in Italy when I watch it, so I want to share :D They have flag twirlers of some sort, really pretty flags, reminds me of butterfly wings. It is about 4:30 Italy time and it is happening right now.

Is there a celebration of some sort today? This is very exciting yahoo not a funeral and actual parade, flag twirlers :D

No, no, please. A daily post would be (ahem!) very helpful ;)

Trouble is whilst I'm sure it helps your home-sickness, it makes mine worse :(

Promised to do our bit on the cam and did, only forgot to take Alex and Lynn's number with us to warn everybody. Rang friends son who tuned in and who sent a text back to get a bit nearer the big posh silver car on the camera, (herse, yes another funeral) We couldn't have been difficult to spot though, we were the lunatics in shorts and vest tops whilst everybody else had there usual leather jackets and long overcoats on. Typical brits :D

Huh! Wondered who you were, a little wave :) PM'd Peg at the time that there was another funeral happening in Carovigno and to take a look. Lots of people in the square, most of them guys by the look of it? You'll know better.

Last night I saw my first Carovigno at night very nice, I really must go!

Night time in the Piazza is so peaceful to me. Well, on camera. Thank you for PMing (?) me. It is also sort of peaceful in a way to be watching the funerals.

I must go also to Carovigno when I come back to visit. See you all later - one day you see me on camera in the square :D

Peggy

Does someone have the link for the Carovigno webcam, please???!! Thanks!

Thanks, neilmcn

oooh, it looks very wet and rainy at the moment!

Looks like its raining this morning too. What a shame there's no Xmas tree for us to look at, that would have been fantastic. Maybe there is and its out of our veiw, but a few light would have been great. Can't make out that the triangular white thing is on the left.

There were lights on the palm trees last night! (although it was just one big blur!) :)

Must say the camera lens could probably do with a clean because it used to be a lot clearer that it is today.............and what has happened to our avid camera watcher sweatpeg..........

;) I'm stilling watching, but have been so busy, not as much as I would like. In fact I was telling this woman at a Christmas party we went to last night about the webcam and gave her the web address so she could watch. Merry Christmas to all of you - hoping I can get on the forum a little more and talk - maybe after the books close here for the end of the year. I am at work:D

Dont know if somebody from the web cam has been reading the forum but the camera is now crystal clear and looks great. See the scene is set from some event and hope I dont miss it.....sweetpeg, nice to your know your still here..

The 3 men standing between the back of the car and the star - are they glued to the spot? - they seem to have been there for hours.

Oh how they love to stop and chat!

Defo something is going on, perhaps another carol concert, oh I wish there was sound :(

I'm watching right now - Oh how wonderful. This makes my morning. I wish I were there also. Merry Christmas!

Peggy;)

It's exciting now!

I love the people in the second story windows looking down at the Christmas festivities with perhaps a glass of wine....
