Ciao Tracy e benvenuta
An ex-brother-in-law of ours lives in Margate - used to live in Broadstairs to be near his daughter, our favourite niece. There is a really good ½ûÂþÌìÌà restaurant in Broadstairs called Posilippo after a village near Naples. They specialise in seafood.
Are you trying to learn on your own, or are you going to classes?
Whereabouts in the Amalfi coast did you stay? We had a fabulous holiday in Ravello. You know THE image of the Amalfi coast; the one with the umbrella pines, the church domes and the coast going away towards Capo d'Orso? Well, we woke up to that view every norning. Paradise or what!!

I'm from Maidstone (where there are no italian restaurants, but there's a few in Rochester not too far away). Peter - I stayed in Sorrento and visited Positano & Ravello & yes I know the "shot", I have a photograph of it on my bathroom wall!
I go to an evening class for ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, have just started my third year and I probably know more than I think I do!
Ciao.

Hi Tracy,
Im from Gillingham, not far from you. We have been going to italy for the past seventeen years to Marotta for very long periods of time as both my husband and I are in education.
We own our appartment which we adore and often have quick trips for 1p with Ryanair.
We love it there (althought it is nice to come back to england after long spells. Not thinking of retiring yet (in our forties). I am actually italian but have lived in england all my life. My children especially my daughter who is 21 cannot get enough of italy and also spends as much time as she can there. She is at the momens working with Virigin Atlantic as cabin crew to she looks forward to the short flight to italy.

Ciao Mara,
Sounds lovely. I'm just about to get the map out to find out where Marotta is though! My partner and I aren't old (he's 40, I'm 34) or rich enough to retire yet either but we do hope to visit Italy on a regular basis, there's plenty of areas we would like to explore and joining this forum certainly gives you plenty of ideas.

[Buonasera Tracy,
Marotta is on the adriatic coast, approx 40 minutes from Rimini but without all the touristy shops restaurants etc. It is paradise.

There's meant to be a good ½ûÂþÌìÌà restaurant in Tunbridge Wells, my son and his girlfriend have been, will find out the name. We are buying in Puglia too. Have fun with your search.
Hello Tracy,
welcome to the forum. Like you, I have visited Italy, mainly Venice, Jesolo and Rimini and just love the place!
Whereabouts in Kent do you live? I live S.London/border of Kent.
There is plenty of useful information to glean from other helpful members on this site, so happy reading!!
