I've spent quite a lot of time in Pescara this year as we are buying a house near.Actually I've even been around town on a bike too!!! I like the town and shopping is wonderful. Its really easy to get to the airport on the 38 bus. There's plenty of cultural events and a cinema.
The beaches.... I have seen better......there seems to always be a bit of a wind blowing and lots of people pestering you to buy crap!
We are using House Around Italy to buy but I think you can go into any Estate Agent in Pescara and find plenty to buy.I was nervous to use an ½ûÂþÌìÌà agent but if I was doing it all again I would as even using an English agent the whole buying process is mystifiying.
If you want a nice place to stay in Pescara The Villa del Pavone run by a friendly retired couple is great.35 euros for a single ring 0854211770.

Dear Jennifer,
I am from Torino, so I can offer a few advices.
First, do not buy before the winter Olympics, the prices are sky high and will drop afterwards.
SEcond. Torino is a big city and there are a lot of different areas to live in, accordingly to what you are looking for.
Posh and residential... La Crocetta. Very posh and residential ... La Collina.
The city Centre is all safe, you can live where you want, the only dodgy part is around il Balun, Porta Palazzo. And even there a regeneration programme has started.
If I had to go back, I would like to live by the river, it is my favourite part of the city.
My mum and dad live close to the Lingotto Factory....
Torino is beautiful all around!!!!
It is very easy to rent.... if you wanted something staright away, a friend of mine is leaving her flat, very small, one bedroom , very reasonable price.
Just send me a private message if you need the details.
Paola

Hi Jennifer, well the first thing I will suggest is to go and visit pescara, there is not much in common between the two cities (a part from been in Italy)and also I would make sure that you like the city before you invest in a property. I am wel curios on why you choose this two completely different locations??. Prices in pescara are cheaper than Torino for sure, the city is in continues expansion and rent demand is high so you wont have problems in renting out the flat, the pecara are is vast and if you consider the surrounding villages is hard to define good and bad areas.
You can maybe start with this even with no or little knowledge in ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, several
agencies have web sites or at least e-mail addresses, listing from the WhitePages:
www.paginebianche.it
in the blank titled 'Cognome o nome Azienda' type: agenzia immobiliare
in the blank titled 'Dove' type: pescara
and click 'cerca'
and you long list of agencies with all their info.
Hope this gives you a start.
