Do you know where we can get a list of all the events going on locally please ? Sagras, feste etc. In the summer it is easy as there are so many but we only happened to find out about the Festa di San Vicenzo in San Vito dei Normanni last weekend because we saw the signs closing the road for the procession !!!! We had only been in the tourist board offices the week before and they had nothing !!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

There is something going on in Ostuni from yesterday, up until Sunday. Don't know what its for, will ask Neal later. He said the stage is all set up in the square and yesteday bands were playing. :p

Some kiddies things good for you chaps, looks like games and clowns etc. is it raining there?

you could buy in 'edicola' a newspaper called 'quotidiano'. it's about everything happening in the local area (brindisi-lecce if you live in 'brindisi-county'!!), including sagre in the summer and particular events, such as concerts or festival throughout the year. let me know!

This has probably translated to be a complete load of rubbish by babel. We did a translation for our vendor of the property we are buying and he rolled about laughing because a word had translated into something to do with the war! Sorry, have a lot to learn! :o

Hi Lyn and Alex, Have you tried looking in Puglia Press and Martina Franca has it's own web page. Haven't got link to hand will find it and post.

Thanks for all you tips...I'm going to start a calendar of events as I find out about things in the area...if you hear of anything please let me know.....don't want to miss anything next year !!!!
Had to laugh at the Ostuni site...they have listed all the things that have already been on and just the one this weekend !!!! :rolleyes:
May be handy for some people to know what is on when they are due to come over again.

Paula, the Ostuni weekend looks great for your children. Looks like you are coming at just the right time. :)

If the strike does go ahead, when will I get there?. We've a suitcase full of grub and pop incase we're stranded for a couple of days. :( Kids are sooooo excited, all packed and ready for the off about 9.30. :p

I do indeed. Once flew alone with 3 daughters under 3 from London to Toronto. Nightmare. There, I bet that's cheered you up ;- )

(a long time ago but) my mum flew from UK to Singapore, heavily pregnant plus 3 children, 2 year old , 4 year old and 7 year old! Three days flying, two overnight stops.

Have a good journey, wish we were going today. Still waiting for the exchange / completion dates on the sale of our UK house. Why is selling (and buying ) houses in the UK so stressful?
