I'm the guilty party for giving it the snip.
Aggro levels are a bit too high here of late. Sorry if it interrupted a largely good discussion.

It's a difficult line to tread, and the original post was a good one, but I feel that overall your balanced view is about right Sano... :)

Dave was a member who asked a question on the forum about whether an agent was any good and if anybody had any comments as he was purchasing through them. If I remember rightly he was accused of working for them and a full scale slanging match developed. :( I've just checked the members list and he was last on line 5/05 but the whole of the thread was wiped off the forum so it shows as no posts by Dave whatsever, even Mrs Dave got involved.............so be carefull what you say...........you too could end up with the snip

Oh... and I thought it had all just run its course and run out of steam.
(Must admit have been glued like a bit of a telly addict to see just 'what happens next'..)
Never mind (do ya reckon the same snipping happens when the phone tappers think you are talking too much about weedkillers and it is all adding to the toxic waste)
Joke!! BTW,

Was a great thread, I was too much of a coward to join in though. Have a feeling the walk along the beach will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. :D
ahhh yes of course... i do remember that...not sure if i agree with the margin of tolerance over snipping....as that was the funniest thread of all time..i loved it......there was all this broo haha over whether he was genuinely italian or something, because of the way he spelt, didnt he spell Abruzzo wrong? having said he was from there......and then his wife made a lovely defense of her husbands spelling......so sweet....come back Dave.....is it still stored somewhere....we could have a amnesty night....
No, I think the other way round he was suspected of being an ½ûÂþÌìÌà interloper passing himself off as a satisfied (or dissatisfied?) Englishman house-hunting in Italy. Whether guilty or not I did think of his wife as being like poor old Marie-Antoinette hounded by the mob and on balance it was probably right that it was purged. Always got to have a second revolution so the right people get to the top.

I think it's very mean of all you folk to talk so much about threads which aren't there any more. It makes people like me who haven't read any of them extremely curious. Couldn't they all be put on again, all together, for a very short time, so we can read them! No - I thought not.

The one thread was left up for a day after it was locked before being deleted. The scaremongering one was removed, perhaps I should have left it up a bit longer but hey, we all make mistakes.

Perhaps we could have occasional specials, "The Threads from Hell" or something, maybe limited release on DVD, or something, or as an Italy Mag special edition with tasteful pictures of Tuscany on each facing page, ohhh, medication kicking in........ :D

Wonderful thought, I could then advise you to sue the manufacturers of the chair, your employers for failing to provide a safe working environment, myself for posting, Italy mag for allowing it to be read, then we'd
A. start another thread off having a go at litigious society, workers rights, employment and health and safety law.
B. Make you enough money in settlements for you to get a nice little place over here.
BUT, YOU TOTALLY MISS MY POINT....... :D ;)
Ahhh Haaah, I have reached the number of posts which truly reveals my identity......

Congrats, GeorgeS!! I bow to your exalted status!
Hmmm you just gave me some ideas... :D Am pretty sure I didn't miss any points at all... ;)

Yes, I was thinking exactly the same thing, why was it removed? I wasn't bothered, even though Gio had started the "shouting" at me.
Nice to see you're not taking things so seriously today, well this post anyway ;)

Adriatica - if you have followed my history in this forum you will note that I have hardly if ever acted in the capacity of moderator. I do choose to leave people to work things out between them, to the point that Ronald normally has to step in and put a stop to things.
I picked up on aggro and some less that pleasant name calling in one thread, which is why I first locked it, then decided to remove it. I removed it because of the wording of the content, which I felt was not appropriate to this site.
The reason I shut the scaremongering thread was because it was reported to me, and it was a preemptive thing to stop it going down a route it might easily have strayed on to. Perhaps a tad overzealous on my part but what's done is done.

sano...thanks for the clarification.... and understand why and what ... no idea about the other thread..... past is past as you say
mmm yes good question John....is this the sicilian censors at work?....Ronald - disapearing threads are scarier than acrimonious threads about scaremongereing....have you had the scissors out?...own up. :)
Will, Sicilians - what have you got against them ? Are you generalising about the Sicilians? Do you know about the hardship those people have had to endure over the years?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
hello everyone,
just wanted to say that I honestly do not know what happened to that thread. Granted it was heated but not hot enough for the "sicilian" sensor...
My guess is that the database had a glitch and the thread has ended up in the graveyard of lost 1 and 0s. I do apologise for this...
Also apologies for not saying something sooner as you are once more quarrelling (here and elsewhere). I realise that you are all adhering to the stereotype of passionate ½ûÂþÌìÌÃs but please keep it short from offending others.
It is very easy... whenever you write a comment along the lines of "X I think you are a Y", delete X and Y and write "My opinion is that one should do (or think) Z".
Take care!
Ronald
Ronald was the last to post to that thread, saying we had to mind our language, not get to heated, it is good to debate and another point that I can't remember. So after that he obviously gave it the snip, bit like Dave.
