1537 Weather predictions

With Neal about to set of on his long journey from Manchester to Ostuni on Tuesday, I thought I would check out the weather forecast. Accorting to the 5 day forecast from BBC Weather site Sat and Sun, rain, Monday, Tue, Wed, sunny and about 73 degrees :) . I then had a quick look at comuni-italiani at their 10 day forecast who have predicted rain the whole ten days. :( Confused

Does anybody know and use a tried and proved fairly accurate web site for weather predictions.

Paula, these weather people now can use incredibly accurate sattelite imagery, linked to computers running amazingly sophisticated computer weather models to get it wrong, how can mere mortals ever forecast more inaccurately... :) It's easy, the weather will be changeable, and that one s good ffor the whole year... ;)
I prefer the pebble method described in another thread.
Or, you could hack the nearest military airport weather system, disadvantage being big men with guns locking you up...

when you're over here for good, watch linea verde on Sundays they have a good weekly forecast, or ask the local farmers...

I use Yahoo weather for Brindisi...it was spot on when my sister was here...but the 10 day forecast regularly changes !!!!! ...which is a bit of a blow for the party as yesterday it said sunshine all day on Tuesday ..this morning says rain !!! Ho Hum !!!!

When does Neal arrive ...is he coming over for the party ?? He can bring whoever he wants ( joke !!!!!! :D )...sorry...will miss ya !!! :)

His ferry crossing is Tuesday 11th 9.30, isn't that the day of the party, sorry, stopped reading the thread, toooooooo upsetting as can't be there as you know :( Only joking, hope you have a great party and I hope the weather holds up, what about a gazebo have you got one of those some could sit under. Is it cold at the moment, shall I throw hats in the van for the kids. We went to Blackpool for the lights last Saturday night and it was freezing and we all got earache the wind was that bad. Can't imagine it being as bad as that.................

No...not as cold as that...just much colder than i thought it would be ...and at the moment...wet, wet and more wet....huge thunderstorm all night..and i mean all night....cleared a bit...now teeming down again and thundering !!!thought the windows were coming in just now ..(yours are aren't they ...get it !!!! :D )
I didn't read your thread properly either ..or I would have noticed that Neal is leaving on Tuesday ..yes day of party !!!! Sorry !!!

On the plus side..if the sun is out..it is lovely and warm...just need it out !!!

We have a Gazebo but Alex informs me it isn't waterproof.. .....still we have a big verandah so we should be OK....and anyway...it's NOT going to rain...is it ????.......bought the balloons yesterday !!!!

Yeh yeh got it about the windows, our place is probably simillar an indoor baths then. Not for long, they are on the back of the van as we speak and I am well impressed. They are just as I imagined although I can't see the glass panel for the front door, its boxed up. :p

Do you want more marmite cos i'm going shopping for some last minute bits for Neals journey tomorrow afternoon.

oooh yes please....but only if you send the bill so I can pay Neal....'spect me and my marmite is dead interesting to everyone else on the Forum :D !!!!
Thanks Paula......see you sooooooooon :)

watched with interest arrangements for parties etc in puglia.... and had thought of suggesting boats and umbrellas as the theme...half the place under water .... but at long last it is coming to an end and tomorrow in puglia the sun will shine and will remain that way at least until wednesday...

italy as a whole has been hit but the two worse regions are emilia and puglia... rimini also has taken it quite badly....

however this is normal for the two regions...puglia always suffering more because of abusive building and poorly constructed infostructure... but at least those of you that live there will now know if the place you have bought is liable to floods or if you are cut off because the road has disapeared... and in reality this is as about as bad as it gets... so you can almost guarantee that if you didnt get wet feet this time you never will....

for those of us that buy here and move into the house in summer autumn and winter can be a rude awakening...there is a story put about by house sellers in general that with walls almost a metre thick the house will be warm and snug.... bull... it will always need double glazing and central heating and a log fire goes a long way to cheer up those rainy grey days.... the biggest fright for all of us will be the arrival of the winter bills.... it all costs more here... the problem is it takes an accountant to be able to understand the formulas on the back to work out what the cost per unit will be .... the scary total...often not coming out until you actually read the metres or have them read...

so anyway good luck with the party and the weather...it seems that you have picked a good day ... and the sun will shine...

Thanks John...we'll have a toast to you !!!! (providing the sun shines !!! ;) )

Just going to pop out and mend Puglias infrastructure !!! :D ...I will , as usual, be asking everyone how I do this...like I did with the Almonds !!

For the most accurate weather forecast, I always look at my local Webcam. For me that is the Sassonia one in Fano. Obviously it is accurate and always working. For your information it has been raining alot recently.
