Something else to ask the solicitor geometra is doing a structural survey next week when I get the property changed from rural to urban takes 4 weeks been told. Is this when I ask or after? Who do you ask and how do I go about getting permission sorry for bombardment of questions. Last question does this also count if I want to put new bathroom in etc?

I would advise you to ask whenever you meet your geometra next, as I said comunes treat the permissions differently depending on various variables, here for instance, I would not require permission to change the existing bathroom fittings, but, if doing any stuctural alterations to fit a new bathroom,I would BUT, permission is normally, automatically granted... "George, this is not the historical centre of Roma..."
Hang on, have you bought PRIOR to the structural survey ???.
For permissions, there is a form (or forms) sometimes, straightforward which you can complete. If alterations to structure, normally a Geometra is needed.

No I am having the structural survey done next week and then when the survey is translated into English I do the Accatastamento" (registration) from rural to urban then on the 17th November if this is all ok pay the remainder and get the keys. It is alot to happen is a short time its a wing and a prayer everything runs smoothly. Its just I know it needs a new bathroom and kitchen I am hoping it doesnt need rewiring
Good News Kym, now, put that foot gently on the brakes a bit :) permission depends on many things, the location of your house, the type of house, age, your individual comune, you should check with your lawyer and geometra before starting any demolition, remember that regulations here different to GB, the comune may well need to be informed about all of your plans and your plans may need approval. good luck.
