Almost every village in italy has a full blown web site(i have no idea what a local public access cable station is) some even have forums, if you want to know what there is to do or see in a town look on the internet,this applies to events carnivals or whatever,at worst look at the posters in shop windows,bars,or streets announcing forthcoming events,fortunately we are still free of "public access cable stations" probably as it would be impossible as useless to lay the cables to do this whatever it was,we still talk to each other put up posters and stuff like that (and who'd want to pay for this cross country cabling anyway?)apart from that there are plenty of local journals with everything from used cars,houses,objects,thru to transexuals advertising inside...........

I'm talking about Cable as Cable TV. I'm aware of all the wonderful resources available on the internet on local activities and anything one can think of!

I'm just curious about local cable access television.

What happens (here) is when big cable companies want to have TV stations(have cables already laid out) they can be compelled to help communities by offering some of their bandwidth for local television programing (and they get a big tax deduction for a donation to a community).

BTW

I'm only curious if there is anything like this. I have no interest in doing something like this in Italy. I've worked in this kind industry for 25 years in the US. I'm ready for new adventures in Beautiful Italy!
