½ûÂþÌìÌà govt. is likely introduce new taxes on energy and telecom networks next year. The report I read (Il Sole 24 Ore) suggests that they are going to deal with some of the massive budget deficit by raising an extra 700-800 million eur by introducing the taxes on the networks of energy and telecommunications companies in 2006.
The service providers that these taxes will likely affect are Eni SpA, Snam Rete Gas SpA, Enel SpA, Terna SpA and telecommunications companies like Telecom Italia SpA . So expect to see bills rise once its ratified by the ½ûÂþÌìÌà parliament.
Mind you its no better in the UK - big rises in the pipeline here too. :(

the telegiornale last night laconically referred that we should expect rises in the prices of GAS and ELECTRICITY of between 3.0% and 4.8% starting from the 1st October2005, at this point all the aeliolic/thermal pump/solar panel/pellet people can feel free to "go to town"on their projects as now it may prove to be worth while despite the initial outlay....no idea about telecom neither do i care a lot (always been a band of rip off artists).....
