1332 ½ûÂþÌìÌà Tax Return

Hi everyone
There's been a very poor response to my plea for help - only one - thank you Laura - I've emailed you. How do you all deal with your ½ûÂþÌìÌà tax returns? - perhaps everyone's keeping quiet because they don't complete them!!! I've been really pleased with the response on other questions but this one seems to have you all stumped. Someone please help.

we are going to put Alexs' tax ( pension) into the hands of a commersialista as I don't feel confident to sort it out and have heard that it is a bit involved. Try Cristinas' web-site www.ex-patsinitaly.com ( I think that is correct )...I'm sure there is a whole lot of info on there about tax.

The little I do know is that you have to get the forms yourself and basically work it out yourself....much like the Community type tax , ICI. ....Hence the commersialista !

Apparantly no forms are sent to you ....but if you don't pay on time I think the penalties can be high.

Sorry not more informative but a say, the more I read , the more we got confused ( and Alex was a Payroll manager...and he didn't fancy taking it on , even with me translating...mind you that may have been his reason !!! )

Thanks Alex and Lyn. I'm really glad someone is on the case. Went to Cristinas' web-site but I couldn't find anything about income tax payable by people who live in the UK but only rent out their property. It seemed, obviously from the title, Expatsinitaly, aimed at people who actually live there. From what you say, it seems I need to get in contact with a Commersialista (is that the same as an Accountant? - I have so much to learn). So I'm back to the beginning, can anyone recommend a Commersialista near Bagni di Lucca or Lucca who speaks English. If there are fines involved for not paying on time I really need to get my act together but it's not for the want of trying.

If it is only for doing your year end taxes (that measn you are not paying IVA) then they will direct you to the right place. We have offices here for doing taxes at tax time. I will look through my husband's files and get the name of it.

Before anything though you should do is go to your local Confcommercio and ask them if they have someone who speaks English. They will also be able to steer you in the right direction when it comes to taxes due. I pay confcommercio 30 euro a month for taking care of my business accounting.

Thanks Cristina. I'm in the UK and our accountant here says that before we can pay UK income tax on the rental income we need to complete an ½ûÂþÌìÌà Tax Return as a formality as well, even though, hopefully we won't have to pay 2 lots of income tax. The problem is that we only go to Italy once a year (have just come back) so going to local Confcommercio isn't an option.
By the way, don't know what IVA is!

Hi, the IVA is the ½ûÂþÌìÌà V.A.T.
