1054 Dance?

I don't wish to sound stupid BUT can anyone tell me what the national dance is? I know ballet is really big but I always thought salsa and flamenco were Spanish. Am I right?

Flamenco is spanish, salsa is from South or Central America I guess.
In Italy there is not a national dance: many regions, many towns, many dances. Probablly the closest to a national dance is Tarantella.

I agree with Notaio - there isn't any readily identifiable ½ûÂþÌìÌà national dance. When one must be performed I think tarantella would step up to take the responsibility but that really is a dance that exists in various form just from Napoli down to Sicily.
