Ciao Dawn,
I have a truly excellent recommendation for a restaurant in Rome. It is called "Piccolo Abruzzo" and it is on via Sicilia near Piazza Fiumé. Via Sicilia intersects via Veneto and is near Villa Borghese so it is a nice area of the city. I have friends from the US who chose a layover in Rome just so they could go back to this place. The restaurant is small, charming and lively. It's filled with fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese and meat that they use in their dishes. They have a fixed menu (you don't select or personalize what you eat so no Sally/Meg Ryan's from When Harry Met Sally) that is prepared according to what is fresh from the market, but consists of an assortment of antipasti (fresh cheeses, bruschetta, salamis, etc), 2 primi that are usually 2 dif pastas, a secondi that is meat, wine and water, fruit - dessert, liquors. It is really good and primarily frequented by locals. I lived down the street so that is how I discovered it. The owner, Alessandro, is at this point a dear friend since I've been a regular for a over a year now. You can tell him Adriana from Philadelphia sent you. The price for dinner is somewhere about 30-35 euro per person (not really sure since I've been making full use of the "friend" discount so popular in Italy) and includes everything listed above. A word of advice: go hungry, don't bring any vegetarians and call a cab after all the delicious house wine!

Thanks Adrienne it sounds great we will be in Rome for four nights so will definitely try it out and will mention your name of course. I love ½ûÂþÌìÌà food so can not wait.

Rome is one of my all time favourites,an amazing city.I have been several times and have always done the Green Line Tours. The office is very close to Termini station. They offer an excellent sight seeing service of all the main sites.A ticket is valid for 24 hours, you can hop on and off as much as you like.Good value for money....In the Trastevere district (near vatican city, across the water)there is a fab restaurant called IL Galleone.A ship themed restaurant, eaten there twice, both great nights, would definately go again.

Enjoy Rome
