What a great site. I just discovered it a couple of days ago and have aquired a wealth of information concerning the regions of Marche and Puglia. They seem to be the regions which a lot of you are moving to or hope to move to.

I live in Canada and visit Italy often (4 times in the past 5 years). I couldn't make it this year and I miss it.

Has anybody in this forum moved to the Gargano (Puglia) region? I am thinking of eventualy retiring there and would like some feedback. In most of my trips there the only language other than ½ûÂþÌìÌà was German.

Thanks!

Hi Frank, I know nothing about Puglia, but you also mention Marche. Here I know a very nice French Canadian chap who with his wife run a B&B near Offida. Website www.vinoffida.com.

We did have a quick word about Gargano not long ago. If you search the forum for Gargano you will find the thread. Nice area, we keep planning a trip down that way, and possibly, if I can work out a way of getting my boat to Italy at a reasonable price, we will try a long lazy holiday sailing to the peninsula from Pescara.

Hi Frank,

And welcome :)

We are on 'the other side' in Calabria.
Just happy to be in Italy! (even thought it's only part-time at the moment -working on that aspect!!)

Frank,

I am from Piemonte. On of our relatives moved to Toronto many many years ago. He comes to italy every two years, he is very sweet , as he can speak perfect Piemontese dialect but his ½ûÂþÌìÌà is not as good and with an heavy english accent... I find taht very endearing.

Italy is a good place to be. You could consider piemonte as well.
