442 documents needed to open italian bank account

ciao a tutti,
could anyone tell me what documents i need to take to italy to open a bank account please?
we are travelling to italy at the end of june to sign for our property and hopefully open a bank account, we have been told that we need a document that shows we are resident in the uk, to open a foreigners bank account in italy, we have all the usual documents but what defines a document that says you are a resident in the uk?

My wife and I opened our bank account two months ago, all we had was our passports and fiscal code. All the paperwork has been sent to our home address in England as we don't have an ½ûÂþÌìÌà address yet and we have just (2 hours ago) made our first transfer, I hope it's there when we get to Italy on Monday!

We used our passports, driving licenses and codice fiscale to open a bak account in Italy. I think that's all you will need. You also need to make a declaration that you are resident in the UK and pay taxes in the UK as part of the UK/½ûÂþÌìÌà agreement on the avoidance of double taxation. This is a standard part of the bank contract.

Take a couple of utility bills with you too as you might need them...........I did. Phone bill, electricity/gas bills or whatever.

why on earth you would want to open an account in Italy? you will pay for each transaction you do, like a business account, administration will cost you around 176 euros per year, and around 45 euros to close the account! To open it you need to get a codice fiscale from the local tax office. It is free, women will be asked to give their maiden surname and this will appear on the codice fiscale document . this means that the bank account will have her maiden name, which is a right mess as documents will not match.

Hi,
I got a codice fiscali last month and it wasn't in my maiden name.
The official just copied the info from my passport, which was in my married name.
Maybe it depends on the documents supplied at the time?
Or could it be dependant on the particular person issuing the paperwork?
