[QUOTE=ronald]Plebeians in this forum - rather than "vulgar, unwashed masses" are members with less than 15 posts. As soon as you reach 15 posts you are upgraded to the all together more agreeable class of Equestrian - while anyone reaching the respectable sum of 100 posts is a Senator. Was tickled by this - as I have 4 horses/ponies I already considered myself an Equestrian ;) .
Having said that, it seems that I have made 18 posts but I'm still a pleb.
Tyring to tell me something, Ronald ? :D
A pleb?

Not sure I'm too happy about being a pleb, but shouldn't Ronald be a senator or something?

technically - i should be emperor :) but thought that could be rather presumptuous! - i need to find what you call a technocrat in latin...
Still waiting to get promoted

I have 23 posts to my credit and I am still part of the low class elements on this forum; but, really, does anybody care? I sure as hell could care less, as long as I can contribute I will do it in any class that I find myself in. Remember, Jesus said, "the last will be first, and the first will be last. And, who am I to argue with this wisdom?

Isn't there a danger that that people could try to upgrade their status by making a number of irritating spurious posts........

.... a bit like this!

By the way, shouldn't someone with 100 posts be a 'Centurion'?
I don't think anyone could possibly object to you (or Fiona) being 'Emporer'... just remember to stay away from the Forum on the 15th March every year though!

It seems that the conditio sine qua non of participating in Forum is that we all apply Roman terms to our identities.
To get into the spirit of things perhaps the emperor will grant us humble moderators a change of name… Hows about one of the following:
Consul
Praetor
Praetorian guard

happy to oblidge Praetor Charles :)

Hi Ronnie.
Who is one of the most important official in the ½ûÂþÌìÌà way of life?
A SINDACO.
I think you should be called 'il Sindaco.
'Emperor' is not only presumptious, its extremely archaic.

Salve!
Being new to the Forum I have been reading a bit of the past entries. I would go for Consul or Praetor and I would discard the Praetorian guard. They were very much hated as they acted a bit like the Emperor´s private Gestapo or SS... I can remember the terrible Tigelinus under Nero´s reign
Cheers!

I did wonder why I was landed a title I had never considered myself being - a pleb - but as they say "sticks and stones don't break my bones" so it didn't worry me.
Now I understand the reasoning behind this. I certainly am a novice, junior, beginner, starter, or whatever you want to call me and if I have to be - then I am a "pleb"!!

I was wondering how long it would take before someone asked about the new titles! and dave and denise even did some background research!

Just thought its all more interesting than "junior member", "member", etc... and educational as well :)
