Channel ferry fare offer

06/02/2011 - 09:58

Thought this might be of interest to anyone thinking of driving to Italy before the middle of December. Norfolkline (now part of DFDS) are offering a special fare on all Dover - Dunquerque sailings up to 15th December this year.  Car plus 4 people each way - low season £25, high season £35.  High season is 22nd July to 5th September and fares are weekdays (Mon-Fri) on all sailings.  Weekend supplement is £10 each way.  Prices include fuel surcharges. You have to book your crossing by 6th June BUT you can make a first booking amendment before 30th June free of charge. To book visit  and, no, I don't work for Norfolkline or Ferrycheap.  Just like a good bargain and prefer to support the ferries rather than the tunnel.

Norfolkline is a great ferry service, but could use more ships, and Dunkirk is no farther from Italy than Calais.  Its better placed for the route via Luxembourg [cheap petrol and no autoroute charges] We always pay the extra for priority loading and 'exec lounge' - all in all a very civilised way to cross the Channel.   [helped by the lack of coach parties]
