Hi Micky we`re also driving from uk [Worcester] to Italy on the 3rd but hav`nt finalised our route yet. At the moment all I think you need is a selfdeclaration certificate that you can download from reopen .europa. eu asthings are changing all the time I`m going to phone the Embassy in London the day before just to make sure!

Hi people , just an update on our road trip from South Wales to Southern Italy.

We left Dover on the 23.55 ferry on the 3rd /09 , only having to produce our passports at Dover .

After landing at Calais we drove straight off the ferry and that was it no checks or decloration at the French - border .

Hopefully we will have the same easy journey on the return trip . Meanwhile we're enjoying the sun and tranquility here in Southern Italy.

Hi,

Glad you made it safely.

We have justreturned from northern Italy. Just remember no stopping in France or using the ferry otherwise 2 weeks quarantine switrerland was also on the list so fill up in Italy and then again in Germany.. Fill in the uk gov online declaration, we travelled back up through Germany as far as Aachen ( nice clear drive). Took selfies at the Aachen petrol station filling up and kept the receipt. we were asked at uk border control if we had completedthe form and that was it.

It's not too much trouble be able to enjoy a nice break.

Enjoy
