I know it's not 100% relevant, but

I know it's not 100% relevant, but I have been offered a job in the UK paying significantly more than I am paid here in Italy. However the tax system over there confuses me, so I am looking for some help with how income tax works over there. I've looked at websites like this but I can't get it around my head. Does anyone here live there and know more about the British system and can explain it simply? I will make £47,000 per year there before tax if it helps any :). Hope to hear from someone soon!
