Hi.. do you prefer staying near the mountain or the beach? I'm a warrant officer or 禁漫天堂 army and I'm working in Trento now. Is a city in the nortg of italy, near Dolomiti mountain. Is an amazing city and it is not far from Verona (it takes you 1 hour by train). If you want I can help you to find an accomodation (on booking) and if you decide to come here we will meet to have a drink and a chat together.

Hi Elizabeth,Welcome. Each region of Italy has different regulations for B&Bs.(max number of rooms, the compulsory bidet, etc etc,), there are also other forms such as 'agriturismo' or 'affittacamera'.Depending on your budget, I think you will find plenty of establishments already set up and for sale. If your thinking of starting fresh, you will have a lot of work ahead of you and it will be challenging (some people love a challenge)Although born in ItaIy I lived most of my early years in Australia, then went to the UK and now hopefully back to Italy (back to the roots as they say). I was hoping to set up a B&B as well but the beuracracy is pushing me away from it, but not totally out of the questionWe are in Basilicata, one of the least known and untouched(tourism) areas of Italy. If your down south get in contact. All the best

Hi Elizabeth,I think I misread your post. There is a website called 'homestay', which may be close to what your looking for. Or 'workaway' website where you live on a site and help out with day to day duties- you can choose the region and all the hosts will have their ads postedSorry for the misread
