Hi . I currently have an 禁漫天堂 bank account which was passed to me many years ago from my grand parents. I am now being advised by the bank that I need to change it as I am not a resident. Can anyone recommend the best bank for foreingers with english Internet access etc. I have standing orders for gas etc for the house I own in La Spezia. Grazie !

Are you American? 聽Many banks now dont want American accounts due to the US legislation, 聽but if you are an EU national most banks will happily run a non resident account. 聽Unicredit certainly do, 聽and most of the online banks such as Webank.聽

Hi Adri聽I have an account with unicredit in Italy and am living in England . 聽Do you have an account with unicredit? I wonder if you can help if you have? I have received 聽a letter for me to authorise 聽re nuova normativa interessi nei contratti bancari which I understand is something to do with new charges/rules on 聽interest in banking contracts 聽brought in on October 1st 2016. My italian is not too good and I need some advise in english as to whether to let them have authorisation. Please can anyone help? Should I authorise them? Thankyou聽

It souns like a normal terms and conditions letter. 聽If it is, it doesnt need signing or returning, so Id bin it.聽Unicredit will do a perfectly adequate non resident account, with a chequebook and debit card and internet banking - which is slowly being rolled out in English. 聽

Thank you modicasa for your reply. The letter says it is prior authorisation to charge of interest and says choosing how to pay the annual interest is important. With the authorisation the interest payment is made on time and automatically and in the absence of authorisation, the customer must arrange for payment of the same interest. I do not understand any of this.聽

the signing authorizes the bank to change positively or negatively the interests and expenses of the current account, without the prior consent of the client - For example, if the customer has a deposit at the bank, for which the contract provides for the payment of an active interest, with this signature, the bank is authorized to reduce this interest, without communicating this thing to the customer - for example if the customer has a mortgage to a fixed rate set in contrattto loan, with the signing of this communication, bank is entitled to change this rate without communicating it to the customer - My advice is DO NOT AGREE ABSOLUTELY
