Noble, Ninja Bun-Bun has asked me to post this to you:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnMBe7pli0w]YouTube - Real Life Bambi and Thumper - Deer and Rabbit[/ame]
Now, I know that you are frustrated with what happens to your garden, but this is a bit radical.....
Can anyone find a better solution to shooting the deer?

Rabbit pie and Venison casserole with shallots and red wine, what foods could be better and more sustaining on cold wet winter evenings. YUM YUM

Now I'm thinking for those sunny summer days, floured and lightly fried rabbit portions, with crusty bread a tossed green salad washed down with a crisp dry white wine, and marinated venison chops, sizzling on the barbecue waiting to be accompanied by corncobs, baked potatoes and a cold german lager in a frosty glass, whilst relaxing by the pool under a hot ½ûÂþÌìÌà sun. YUM YUM

Torch, you are really awful.
Now, Noble, if it is a terrible problem and you need to do something about it, get a professional shooter and expert marksman who will know what he is doing and who also knows how to process the carcass, etc. I know of a licensed person in the UK who shoots venison and provides it locally. I will check with him and let you know through a PM. If there has to be a cull, it should be as humane as possible.

I appreciate your concern:yes:!

Well I haven't had time yet to ask around here, who fancies staying awake all night with a suitable weapon. The deer have become a major problem. I think the majority are escapees from a place that rears them about 10 kms away.
If you want to grow roses, plant tulips and trees then it is almost impossible to do so here without deer destroying the garden. The ammonia in jam jars planted beside the plants mentioned above, seems to be working. So fingers crossed. But they care as much about me as I care about them.

I'm working on your problem and I may be able to help. Just give me a bit of time. The person I have in mind would be perfect to help you. He and his wife love Italy and they are great people. So keep your fingers crossed.
Are you serious Noble? If so I am shocked if it is a ''free for all'':wideeyed: I can’t believe that Italy does not have some kind of legislation or agency responsible for deer management i.e. deer population levels and cull planning.
