I was married in Las Vegas, 2 June USA in June to my 禁漫天堂 wife. We had all our documentation for an italian marriage certificate handled by an officail translator and paid a hefty amount for prompt service. 2 months and we shall have the certificate. That date blew out to 4 months. After constant harrasment of our local coucil with the only response "its not here" ,and little correspondance from the 禁漫天堂 embassy we finally found that the certified email was never recieved.. The pidgeon carrying the message must have been taken down by a falcon somewhere en route.Having gone to speak to the Questura about the forthcoming dillema, myself becoming "clandestino" their reply was don't worry, but hurry.. hmmmm. Three days later i was stopped in Germany by a random car control check without documents, arrested and nearly deported. I still need to deal with and close that one.So marriage certificate in hand i return to the Questura to see about now getting my permesso di soggiorno and waiting like everyone else im told " Im too busy to see you today come back in 1 week." Grrrrr....The papperwork has now been submitted and is being processed which i was told will take a month. I'm no longer counting days after this ordeal, I've had a job lined up for 2 months now, an awesome job with the best pay and conditions possibly available in Italy and been unable to start. Hopefully i can start in the new year?Has anyone else had these kind of issues waiting for what i consider "important" documents? Is this where i look back and laugh after the document finally arrives saying "thats Italy" like after so many other irritating things? Maybe it's not such a long time? Having tried to do everthing right and paid the money im still getting the muddy end of the stick. 2000 euro and i could've brought one black market, yes they are for sale.

Hi there Welcome to the frustrations of Italy. 聽Sadly, what you are describing sounds unbelievably frustrating and also very typical of the country and the region. 聽The adage, its not what you know but who you know is more true in Italy than elsewhere. 聽I would suggest you get your employer to call the relevant office or find a lawyer in Le Marches who can connect with these officials. 聽I can introduce you to someone reliable in Civitanova but it depends on your own location because you need someone that knows someone. I wish you luck and try and remember that many as the frustrations are, the charms of Italy always seem to outweigh them F

It was a treasure hunt tracking down our permisso in the days when they were required for eu citizans, they seemed to be passed around the local police stations for months, finally arriving in our local one in Falerone, we met many people along the way, all trying to be helpful (and useful to know when being stopped at 3am after an emergency hospital trip). Frustrating for you as you need it to work here, but perhaps part of the journey of living here in Italy.?, gets done in the end.聽Some of the first words etched in our brains were聽piano, piano聽.Hope you track it down soon.

Thanks for the replies and as i suspected this is just italy "working."聽聽聽 Thank you聽 for the offer F,聽聽 we are in Montegranaro and seem to have connestions everywhere聽 but in the Questura or commune. 聽 On this matter i dont think a lawyer will be required.聽 Loving it here, "Thats Italy" Just blowing some steam i guess
