Greetings everyone, My husband Andrew and I moved here last year in June and have been trying to settle down ever since. It's my husband's work/job that brought us here . There are so many questions I would like to find answers to about life in Italy in general, about finding a teaching job (I am TEFL certified + a primary teacher by profession) about the best way to learn the language, finding new friends...I shall be browsing through these useful pages and look for the answers. I look forward to our future advice exchanges and chats ;-) Zuzana (aka Millsonka)

Hi! Benvenuta what a great pic of you two there! (Ponte Vecchio on the background, right?) if you hold a TEFL you could get the possibility to teach in schools and universities.. there are many language schools in Italy for people who want to learn English and universities may need a lecturer!  ps: I'm 100% ITALIAN then contact me whenever you need tips about or if you would like to have a chat in ! You can find tips about language here:   In bocca al lupo,  wish you the best

Hi, Zuzana and welcome.  As you have a TEFL qualification the language schools should be queueing up to get you! I suggest you do your CV to the European format, if you haven't already done so, and start taking it around to your local schools.  Good luck!

Reading your post makes me think maybe you are going through what we all do....when not just retiring .......settling down and finding work / integrating not always easy.....So many things different, hopefully people here can advise and help if struggling.  Where r u.  Sure pic is Florence but unsure if that is your home....

for all your replies, I have only just discovered that I have any! I guess I need to check out my settings on notifications ;-) ...yeah the picture is from Florence, but we now live (moved house only on Tuesday) only 20 minutes north of Arezzo. Absolutely amazing countryside. Beautiful, if only it stopped raining now, so I can get out =D ...and thank you for your encouraging words on teaching, I am so excited about getting back into it, I shall be sending out my CV all around. Do you know whether they accept it in English or should I be looking into translating it into ? All the best, Millsonka
