Cabernet vines

04/22/2010 - 15:20

We have a very small vineyard and produce wine for our own consumption. We would like to improve our wine by introducing some cabernet into the mix. Does anyone know where one might obtain some cabernet vines, either dry root or in containers. We have looked in a number of nurseries in our area (Sarzana, Aulla, etc.) with no success. Any tips welcome. Thanks,   Fred

It may be a bit difficult to find Cabernet vines in your area. I found that these people accept mail orders and they seem to be specialists. They also have both Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc varieties. Good luck!

There's a place in La Spezia.  Can't for the life of me think what it's called nor the address.  I'd find my way there, but that doesn't help of course.  Send us a pm.  Actually it's Via San Venerio.  But send us a pm anyway and I'll give you my phone number.  I'd be able to explain over the phone.  Really good place, excellent service and great selection.  At this time of year you'll only get some potted ones though.
