1953 Novita' Assoluta! - Updated Forums and Italy Magazine Member Blogs

As promised the Italy Magazine Forums underwent a significant overhaul this weekend. Some of the changes have to do with things such as stability and security but there are quite a few new things to try out. First off - the forums themselves. I can't stress how important it is to explore "Your Control Panel" - the first link on the bar close to the top of every page. From there you can: 1. You can all attach an image to your profile to accompany all your posts. 2. Choose to use an "enhaced" editor when you type your replies that allows you to do spellchecking and format your pearls of wisdom better. 3. Change almost every aspect of the forum to suit your liking! A few other things have improved the most notable of which is search - it should now be much easier to find those old, useful posts so give it a go. Finally, La grande Novita!: The CommunityThe Italy Magazine website is today taking a step further towards providing the most lively community of Italy lovers on the web. Each member of the forum has access to their own blog - where they can post stories and experiences about Italy to share with all the other readers. This is like your mini-home page on Italy Magazine. Use it share news from your spot of Italy, reviews of hotels and restaurants, etc. Each user also has access to their own gallery, where they can share their favourite pictures of Italy with the rest. As promised we will be running a monthly competition for the best picture - with the winner getting the glory and fame of having the picture of the front page of Italy Magazine, and am Italy Magazine polo shirt! Please look around and explore this new area of the site. To make sure things run smoothly follow these rules: 1. ALWAYS LOG IN FROM: Forum 2. If you want to add a new story click on "create content" and then "story" 3. If you want to add a static page - that provides a description about you and your relationship with Italy please click on "content" and then "page" 4. To add a new photo click on Gallery and then click on "Your Album" and then on "Add a photo" Enjoy and let us know what you think about these possibilities.

Great Stuff!!

Don't know if it would be useful, but maybe a test thread for people to test all the new goodies such as Avatars. It has helped on various other forums I frequent (stops experimentation on discussion threads).

btw Silvio is trying to send another instalment of the language course I believe.

Posted a photo onto gallery site yesterday and cant get rid of the action thing underneath ! Have I pressed a wrong button ? What do I do to remove it ? Thanks for your help

The action box probably appears only under your own gallery to act as a short cut for you to edit your pics/comments.

just to say how I like the updated forum, especially the members gallery, some of the photos are so lovely.
I appreciate the hard work and amount of time that must go in to doing all of this.

I have to admit that I am not still sure exactly what is the best way to use it (other than sharing photos yet) - but hopefully the blog aspect of it will allow more stories like that of brendagfc

anyway I am a believer of giving tools and letting them being use anyway the users see fit (there is a proverb about this but I can't remember it right now :))

why doesnt the AVATAR work?..how come some people can but pics next to their name and others cant?..like me....anyone know.
