I'm not ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, nor from the USA, did spend 11 years in Ontario, Canada, though, during my childhood and we visited the States on many occasions but not Oregon.

I think your plan of a home in Italy is very exciting. I come from an ½ûÂþÌìÌà family too. As a matter of fact my mother lives in Florence (Oregon) and my sister lives in Rockaway Beach.

Good luck with your search. I admire firefighters, and I can imagine being one in Oregon can be a very difficult job at times. Where abouts are you from?

Thank you for the welcome. I live in Grants Pass, and as far as where I am looking, I have just started looking. I am going to Iyaly in 2007 for five weeks, and I hope to explore various regions at that time. But that being said, my first thoughts is a home in a small town that I can visit once a year, until I retire and spend 2-3 months a year.

Benvenuto! Two concerns at this point for me would be to try and hook up with some of your relatives in Italy as this may well be a place you would like to have your house and to obtain your ½ûÂþÌìÌà citizenship in the meantime as this will save you some euros and many headaches.
