Hi,
We used to go to Pesaro in the 1970s but sadly the Uk Tour operators stopped featuring the region in their brochures. We stayed at the Palace ( very, very small but homely and friendly and food good ) and the Cruiser ( Huge, impersonal , full of Germans who had a seperate dining room to us and their food was much better !!!, Food poor but fantastic beach ...which you paid for !!! )
Great holidays though....sadly not been back since but wouldli ke to. If you find any hotels to recommend , let us know.
We now live in Puglia. When we started our plans to move to Italy, we intended to go to Pesaro or surrounding area, but property way out of our budget....maybe because Pavorotti has a house nearby !!!!!!

Did you ever go to BiBis Bar...fantastic !!!!!! Wonder what it's like now !

Thanks Alex and Lyn for sharing your memories of Pesaro with me. Can't remember the name of the hotel I was in but I can remember you had to use the swimming pool at the hotel opposite, which was just above the beach. Was BiBis bar down ina basement?. I was friendly with an ½ûÂþÌìÌà lad back then who was just going to do his years national service in the navy, but he worked in a furniture factory normally. He had a motorbike and we usually visited Rimini, Cattolica and our favourite Gradara. I always wondered what happened to him. Probably a Grandfather by now! Saving hard to spend some time in the region.

Hi,
From what I remember it was up towards the skating rink and left down one of the side roads (not far down)...I don't think it was a basement ..but you walked through an archway type thing and the main bar was in a sort of courtyard...fabulous pizzas and the entertainment was brilliant...a lot of traditional middle of the road opera stuff...like , Figaro etc....and traditional stuff like finiculi, funicula, o sole mio and some real comedy stuff.....the singer was huge and had trained as an opera singer and was brilliant and there was this tiny little guy who I remember kept banging his head with a tamborine !!!! ( no ...it wasn't just the wine !!!! )...the atmosphere was fantastic and we had some great nights out there...it wasn't huge ...but knocks the socks off anywhere else at the time....well for us it did !!!....oh happy days :)
Let us know how you get on...definately plannning to pop up there .

The beach in Pesaro is ever so full now. I prefer to go to Fano or the beaches between the two. There are some lovely hotels in Fano right near the beach with their own bit of beach to sunbathe in. We went there yesterday and were looking at the Elizabeth due hotel. Looks very posh.

Generally I prefer Fano to Pesaro, Pesaro is so busy.
