What's wrong with everyone around here? People leaving the bar because they reckon someone was nasty to them, others leaving because that don't like sitting in front of their computers all day reading nasty things being said....

yoo hoo, bar tender.....half a pint of bitter please...oh and a little wine for my friend...

...do you think its sommint we said?

SAD

Personally I think it is to do with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).

As member of Various other forum, things always seem to "go to pot" at this time of year. Bad weather, lack of daylight too long to next visit to Italy/next decent bike ride etc..

I have even seen pretty helpful, docile members go rabid on a newbie.

"Read the stickies!!!" "Do a search!!!"

My bikes much better than yours, the new models cr@p, you don't know what yore talkin about. I have even seen offers of physical violence.

This is when I have seen a good moderator "save" the forum and a not so good one let a forum drift into chaos, which it never recovered from.

Hope that doesn't happen here!!

Dave

"Never let the sun set on an argument between you!"

As a newcomer I find all this "I'm leaving', 'it's not the place it was...' stuff rather disappointing, new and positive members are joining all the time. Why not do something positive to improve the content and out-number the negative posts, it's a sadness that new people like myself who want to get involved with the forum, and the community of Italy-lovers who post on it, are suddenly met with a mass exodus...

I for one am staying on and giving any negative posts a run for their money - who's with me?!

Magsx

Welcome to the house of fun, mate. Can I buy you a drink?

And a.....

Box of balloons with the feather-light touch
Pack of party-poppers that pop in the night

:D :D

Aliena's complaining that her wine tastes a little funny..
..she thinks that maybe the grapes were sour..

No I think the half Scouse/Albanian waiter probably spat in it:D

Ha now....... all becomes clear that is why the taste was so overwhelmingly of chestnuts.
now if you'll excuse me I have to leave as " It's just gone noon half past monsoon on the banks of the river nile " and I need to catch the night boat to Cairo.;)

At this rate all the oldies will have gone and made way for the new generation of forum members? It will not be the first time it has happened!

I feel as if I am one of the older ones, I may be 39 ( I'm not sure if thats old or just nearly old!) :) but with 5 children I often feel at least 130 and that is on a good day!
I thought this was just a little bit of humour. I am trully sorry if I have upset anyone in anyway. I would never do this with intent or even by accident if that makes sense?

as i was going through today's threads and had worked my way through most - George leaving the site and the various reactions to this something happened !!!!(as i said before I'm not good at this stuff)and I'm left with only two threads - can I just say that as someone who will need to put a new kitchen in my villino eventually I found the site on kitchens something I'd like to save (but don't know how) whereas the rest....can't you PM ? or phone MSM or something it really has no content or relevance on this site

I am completely lost on what you are all talking about but carry on, its great to see someone having fun for a change!

Mine's a glass of Recioto !!!:D :p

mines a glass of Monte pulciano d'abruzzo if you're offering, make it a bottle at 1 euro at the italian supermarkets I'm cheap to run! it's a lot dearer in UK!;)

Perhaps this thread should have been posted on the Circolo di Conversazione
section where it may have been more appropriate for naughty school children and drunken monte pulciano drinkers to hang out!!!!!!!!!:D
Aliena. I am not unfamiliar with the flavour of the grape.. with 5 kids I have to have some stress relief, I call it self medication!!!!!!;)
