1661 33 year old male children
...ok another survey...it seems that the average age a male gets married for the first time here is 33....
...it means that he lives at home till then.... and as all red blooded italian males have realised its much better living at home saving on rent and having the cleaning , washing and cooking done by mum....
... so beware all of you planning to move here with young male offspring...they ll be around a long time....
...dont know why they didnt mention female occupancy of the home ... but it might well be that while the son is expected to neither contribute or help the daughter in general helps with all the household chores...so is maybe not so much of a burden....
of course the statistics apply to marriage only....not living together...but in a sense they have a much lower chance of people choosing this route of life... it might be handy for any of you that have not formalised a relationship in the legal sense to know that unmarried couples are not recognised here and that say you live with someone for fifty years and they happen to die...all possesions of his/her will pass on to the nearest blood relative.... even if fifty times removed or the state if none can be found
