[QUOTE=jimmyrobins]Ciao,
I am planning on moving to Italy to settle. I have grown up in England and Scotland, and lived in New Zealand and Australia for 7 years, and returned to Scotland last year. I am 22 and now looking to do it all again, this time in Italy.
I have loads of questions and i'm going to spend some time trawling through the archives to hopefully answer them, but was also hoping you could assist me with some queries now?
Well, firstly, where to go! I was house hunting this summer in Le Marche, Tuscany and a little in Umbria, but i realise there is so much more than this. I do enjoy the simple country life, yet enjoy the buzz of cities. If i was looking at places in the country, does anyone living there at the moment find it too remote or feel distanced from the local comunity?
Also, how do locals feel about the numbers of Expats moving there? Whatever country i have lived in i have aimed to fully integrate myself and to this end would try to in Italy. Are there good places to go to meet others or make new friends?
I'm going to do more research now but i look forward to hearing our thought.

Suggest you research throughly all the positive aspects of living north of Roma in one of the many small towns within easy of the capital. Plenty going on for a mere youngster like yourself!
Good Luck James

Ciao Jimmy,

I would think Piemonte would be good for you, country life and city buzz!!
We have an article about the region on our website, you can download it and see if the place is good for you.
I live in scotland too, by the way!
